DENR directs APMC to stop operating the Sibuyan causeway and transporting nickel ore.

 Philippines' MANILA The Sibuyan Island people are protesting the mining company's operations, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources ordered it to halt causeway building and nickel ore shipping.

Altai Philippines Mining Corporation was ordered to stop building and using its causeway in San Fernando town by the regional directors of DENR MIMAROPA, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, and the Environmental Management Bureau "as a precautionary measure against potential irreparable damage to the government."
